Terms & Conditions


The objective of this competition is to provide a forum in which to discover emerging talent as well as provide an opportunity for enhanced career entry into the music profession for unsigned artists. This is an opportunity for a solo artist to compete and win a prize. Categories include singer or singer/songwriter, variety act (including comedians), or dancer to win this national contest. The finals are scheduled to occur on November 18, 2023 in Nashville, TN and is sponsored by Synapse Publishing & Entertainment®, LLC as well as its affiliate partners and sponsors and hereafter referred to as ‘Synapse’ in these terms.

Rules:

1. Eligible contestants are those individuals who do not have a current entertainment or talent / recording (label) contract or publishing deal from any third party. Entries must be solo entries with no accompanying vocalists or bands. Use of an accompanying instrument is allowed.

2. All contestants must be 21 years of age or older as of August 29, 2023 and must have the ability to commit to attend the competition if selected by the screening panel of judges.

3. Artists of all genres and art forms, race, religion, gender/gender identities are welcome. Material must be ‘family friendly’. Explicit lyrics, violence, nudity or other typically considered profane topics will not be considered as eligible for acceptance into the competition. Acts which include any children or pets are ineligible. Pyrotechnics, stunts, or extreme acts are not eligible as determined by the judging panels.

4. Application/Submission is free, and each applicant may submit only one time. Synapse is not responsible for inaccurate contestant information provided which may prohibit the contestant being reached to inform them of participation in the contest.

5. All entries must be received online following contest instructions.

6. Synapse reserves the right to extend the entry period dates, or change the location, and change the prize package components, or other terms and conditions.

7. Contestants agree to allow public use of name, be videotaped, recorded, and photographed and these images and video/audio may be used in current or future promotions without renumeration now or in the future to the artists.

8. Contestants understand and agree to the use of all registration data being provided to various sponsors, the company affiliates, and other vendor partners, regardless of if they advance in the competition or not. Contestants further understand they may be solicited with marketing promotions directly to them at any point after the registration period closes.

9. Contestants understand that there are no guarantees that they will be selected for a semi-final, regional or final competition and understand that winners may be determined by audience vote, and panel of judges voting may be applied in various circumstances.

10. Criteria for winning will be based on voice quality, performance skill, professionalism, and appeal to the audience and judges. Entries should be submitted without the use of Auto-tune® or similar voice altering technology. Additional links to performances and social media data may or may not be used to evaluate entrants into the contest.

11. Contestants may be requested to be screened for COVID 19 prior to participation and/or wear a mask in public areas based on the prevalence of the virus in the performance areas.

12. Contestants are responsible for their own costs of performance and transportation.

13. All winners and contestants agree to release Synapse from any liability around prizes awarded. All federal, state, and local taxes and custom fees if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Synapse will not pay any taxes or fees on behalf of the winner of the contest and those remain the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes will be awarded at various reasonable times after the contest completion based on sponsor distribution.

14. Contestant agrees to release, indemnify, and hold Synapse, its sponsors, and its judges harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property relating to, in whole or in part, directly, or indirectly from participation in this contest.

15. Contestant agrees that all routines, original songs, acts, or other thing that I perform or contribute to in connection with this contest is entirely original (except for performance of a cover song), and all acts to not infringe upon the rights of any third party, including but not limited to any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

16. I acknowledge and agree that Synapse has the right to disqualify me from the contest at any time in its sole discretion for any reason, including but not limited to any breach of this consent form, rules or regulations, or other reason.

17. By a contestant submitting an entry into the contest, an entrant agrees to accept and be bound by any decisions relative to this contest by Synapse or the judges and agrees to be bound by these terms listed in the agreement.
